Sophie Barbisan
Biographie de Sophie Barbisan, Associate Paper Conservator, St. Louis Art Museum. Elle est diplômée depuis 2016 de l’Institut National du Patrimoine, situé à Paris, d’un master de restauration du patrimoine, spécialité papier et parchemin. Son premier contact avec les Etats-Unis remonte à 2015, lors d’un stage de 6 mois au Harvard Art Museums. Forte de cette expérience, Sophie retourne aux Etats-Unis en 2016 pour un fellowship d’un an au Smithsonian American Art Museum. Elle enchaine ensuite avec un second fellowship à la Colonial Williamsburg Foundation en Virginie pour une année. En 2018, Sophie est embauchée de manière permanente par le Saint Louis Art Museum. Son futur mari, Noah Smutz, la rejoint à St. Louis en 2019. Ils vivent tous les deux avec leur petit garçon à Affton, où Noah a son atelier de restauration de livres.
